Guide to London’s International Schools

International Schools

Bonjour, mes enfants…

With the summer holidays just around the corner, a growing number of families are starting to think about how to provide their children with a first-class international education. Along with helping our tenants find a rental home in London which is situated near to the school of their choice, we have put together this comprehensive guide to the Capital’s independent schools which offer a global educational programme.

Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle, 35 Cromwell Road, London SW7 2DG. Tel: 020 7584 6322

Perennially popular, the Lycée Français goes one step further than most international schools and follows the French educational system, overseen by the French Government. Founded in 1915, this intellectually challenging independent school caters for boys and girls from 4-18 and attracts pupils from 48 different nationalities. Results are outstanding and GCSE and A level options include Russian and Arabic. Correspondingly, places are hotly contested and attract a fair share of glitterati offspring, including Nicolas Sarkozy’s son and Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes, both pupils in recent years.

More recently, the school was visited by US President Barack Obama and follows an American curriculum from Kindergarten, using the resources that the capital has to offer to develop ‘international citizens’.
