Accommodation rates will be higher in general but the weather is perfect for open-top bus tours, river cruises, and walking tours. Do not skip on Alfresco dining at rooftop bars, garden terraces, and riverside restaurants.

July is for British strawberries, asparagus, and summer puddings. The air hums with soft breezes, and gardens are in full bloom. We’ll have long light evenings and occasional thunderous interruptions from the sky above. It is also Wimbledon season where strangers become friends and queueing becomes an Olympic sport in itself.

Let’s deep dive into what’s on in London this July.

British summer time (BST) Hyde Park

This most premier of London’s summer concerts is already afoot with Olivia Rodrigo performing her largest UK performance ever on opening day, 27th of June. The concert will go on till July 13th where Jeff Lynne’s ELO will be his farewell performance. This is one of Europe’s largest ticketed live-music events, with attendance nearing 65,000 per show. Famous acts appearing this year include Sabrina Carpenter, Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts, Zach Bryan and Stevie Wonder.

Wimbledon championships

The oldest tennis tournament in the world, and very importantly for player’s calendars, one of the four Grand Slam tournaments, Wimbledon starts this year on June 30th and goes on till July the 13th. Players wearing almost entirely white clothing will fight it out to be the next champions in this truly British summer celebration. Do not miss out on the strawberries and cream or the cups of Pimms.

Pride in London Parade

One of Europe’s largest LGBTQ+ celebrations, this is a spectacle. There’ll be live music, drag shows, and street food and if you’re someone who enjoys people watching, you should absolutely go for it. From glitter-covered unicorns to DIY rainbow couture, outfits are the centre stage at Pride. Freebies like rainbow fans, Pride pins, biodegradable glitter, and bubble wands will all be handed out by volunteers, charities, and sponsors. Also keep an eye out for rainbow bagels, unicorn cupcakes, glittery cocktails, and Pride-themed menus at cafes and pubs all over Soho. And finally, do not miss “The Heels Races” where participants sprint in high heels for charity.

The parade kicks off at 12 pm on Saturday 5 July 2025, with participants assembling on Park Lane or Hyde Park Corner. It finishes at Whitehall Place, near Parliament Square / Big Ben. Roughly taking about 1–2 hours, the typical route is Central-London Hyde Park → Piccadilly → Trafalgar/Whitehall route.

Wireless festival

One of the UK’s largest and most iconic urban music festivals that has in the past drawn in the biggest names in the genre like Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar and Stormzy, the Wireless Festival will be held this year from 11th to 13th July at Finsbury Park. In celebration of the festival’s 20th anniversary, Drake will headline all three nights this year. This is a no camping, music festival with an easy, accessible by public transport venue and that combustible London energy.

London craft Beer festival

The city will host the London Craft Beer Festival with 800+ beers, and street food in Greenwich on 18th & 19th July. The festival will have Live DJs, music acts, spirits, sake, cider bars, and even a “Cask Yard” showcase for traditional ales. The best part is that the ticket covers unlimited pours for the duration of the session. If you’re a beer lover or casual taster, this event is definitely not to be missed.

Lavender fields in full bloom

Lastly, this July do not miss the Lavender fields in renowned lavender hotspots like Kent and Surrey. This is prime bloom time and farms like Castle Farm Lavender in Kent and Mayfield Lavender Farm in Surrey are something like out of a movie set. There’ll be guided tours to learn about lavender varieties & distillery visits for those interested in essential oil production. Pack a picnic to have it among the blooms, go for long walks with friends and family and take influencer level pictures on lush benches, tractor trains, and even office boxes.

As always in London, try to catch some of the West End & Theatre Highlights. Use the London Pass to save on top attractions and absolutely pack layers because the evenings can be cool despite warm days.

We’ll be back next month with what’s on in London, August edition. See you then.

July the warmest month of the year has arrived at the capital, mostly dry, occasionally rainy but all in all perfect weather for outdoor games.

[941

post-25869","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-london-living
["GET
