\u00a0<\/strong>It\u2019s been a sad month in celebrity land.\u00a0 Scarcely a week has gone by without another icon of music, television, radio or film passing away.\u00a0 Admittedly, some of these legends didn\u2019t perhaps live the cleanest lives, but we loved them warts and all.\u00a0 If you want to take your hero worship one step further and live where these legends once did, read on.

Loved, actually<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Alan Rickman may have been one of Hollywood\u2019s best baddies but he made his home in Notting Hill.\u00a0 Perhaps it\u2019s no surprise that one of his best known roles was another Richard Curtis film.\u00a0 You don\u2019t have to be a film star to live here, though.\u00a0 Notting Hill has some surprisingly affordable options whether you\u2019re an aspiring thespian or a humble travel book shop owner.\u00a0 This flat<\/a> is close\u00a0to Portobello Road.<\/p>\n

David Bowie spent most of his adult life abroad living in New York, LA, Sydney, Berlin and even Mustique.\u00a0 Despite this rather vagabond life, he never forgot where he came\u00a0from and still owned a house in London until fairly recently.\u00a0 The Old Rectory on Gilston Road in Chelsea was owned by the Ziggy Stardust star until 2011.\u00a0 It\u2019s yet to come onto the lettings market but until then, you can live around the corner in this flat<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hell’s angel<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If it wasn\u2019t for a certain flat in Battersea, Motorhead might never have been.\u00a0 The iconic metal band was part of a scene that sprung from squats dotted around South London.\u00a0 Apparently Lemmy also had some rather interesting flatmates: Hell\u2019s Angel\u2019s members.\u00a0 Well, at least no one would have dared burgled their digs.\u00a0 If you\u2019d like to live in a more gentrified version of Battersea, Benham & Reeves Lettings regularly have flats in Waterside Point<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Okay, enough sadness for one blog.\u00a0 Now onto just a bit of old fashioned gossip.\u00a0 Veteran actor Tom Conti has put his Hampstead mansion up for sale after finally tiring of his planning battle with neighbour Thierry Henry.\u00a0 Henry\u2019s home backs onto Conti\u2019s and despite Conti\u2019s objections, Henry has recently won permission to demolish the existing home and build a massive new McMansion complete with a 40 foot tall tropical fish tank.\u00a0 Conti is welcome to call our Hampstead office.\u00a0 We\u2019ve got some lovely properties that are well away from all the construction noise including this one.<\/a><\/p>\n

If you can’t stand the heat…<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Celebrity chef Rachel Khoo is selling her bijou flat in Hackney.\u00a0 Although the property has, as you might imagine, a great kitchen and is beautifully decorated, Khoo finds it inconvenient as she\u2019s often travelling abroad.\u00a0 Apparently it\u2019s just too much of a faff to get across town for Heathrow.\u00a0 Rachel, we can help.\u00a0 We\u2019ve got this great flat near Paddington that\u2019s very convenient for the Heathrow Express.<\/p>\n

Yes, Rupert Murdoch is marrying supermodel Jerry Hall.\u00a0 This love match somehow reminds us of that infamous interview question from Mrs. Merton: \u201cSo Debbie McGee, what first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels?\u201d\u00a0 Anyway, it looks that if these nuptials go ahead, Hall will be quitting the Richmond mansion former husband Mick Jagger still owns, being only permitted to live there until she married or cohabited with someone else.\u00a0 Now that she\u2019s moving in with Rupert, presumably Downe House in Richmond, one of the most beautiful mansions in the area, will come back on the market.\u00a0 Until then, we have this nearby flat<\/a>.<\/p>\n
