London lettings and estate agent, Benham and Reeves<\/a>, has revealed that UK homebuyers remain undeterred by the Jubilee bank holiday break when it comes to their endeavour to find the perfect home, but they could be put off from your property if you\u2019ve opted for these Jubilee decoration deterrents.<\/p>\n

The survey of UK homebuyers by Benham and Reeves found that 55% won\u2019t be taking time off from their property hunt this bank holiday, utilising the long weekend to get ahead of the rest and view potential properties.<\/p>\n

But for those home sellers who remain hopeful of finding a buyer this bank holiday, Benham and Reeves has also revealed which Jubilee themed decorations they may want to avoid dressing their house with.<\/p>\n

Benham and Reeves asked homebuyers which Jubilee decorations they would find most off putting when viewing a property.<\/p>\n

Whether you\u2019ve created the Queen out of cardboard, or her Majesty out of paper mache, effigies of the Queen ranked top amongst homebuyers when it comes to the most off putting Jubilee decorations.<\/p>\n

Dressing our dogs, or other pets for that matter, in Jubilee themed outfits was also up there as one of the most cringe-worthy Jubilee statements within the home.<\/p>\n

A Union Jack or Jubilee themed bed spread is also a safe bet if you\u2019re looking to deter buyers from buying your home, along with a Union Jack clad car, or even worse, a car with a Union Jack paint job.<\/p>\n

Going the whole hog with your garden and sculpting bushes in a Jubilee theme is also a no go, along with Union Jack or Jubilee themed clothing and displaying memorabilia of the Royal Family.<\/p>\n

However, homebuyers were less deterred by bunting, Jubilee themed table spreads and Jubilee flower arrangements.<\/p>\n

Director of Benham and Reeves, Marc von Grundherr, commented:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Jubilee weekend presents a great opportunity for homebuyers to get ahead of the pack, as many will be pausing their property search to spend the long weekend with friends and family.<\/p>\n

As we gear up for four days of celebrations, it\u2019s understandable that many of us will be transforming our homes in anticipation. However, for those who are looking to sell their home, they may want to do so a little more conservatively to ensure that no potential buyers who come to view are spooked by their obsession for her Majesty.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s pretty simple really, just follow the general approach to preparing your home in any market, at any time of year.<\/p>\n

Lean into the Jubilee theme by adding some finishing touches to your property and dressing the table, or adding some bunting.<\/p>\n

However, the slightly scary effigy of Her Majesty that your children created in art class might be best left in the cupboard during the viewing and if you consider yourself a Royal Family super fan, it\u2019s important to note that your 20 year collection of memorabilia may detract attention from the property itself.\u201d<\/p>\n
