Benham and Reeves Foundation Creating a brighter tomorrow

Building communities by giving back

Improving the lives of the communities we operate in is a key component of our business philosophy. It’s why partnering with charities and initiatives such as the ABC Foundation in India, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and the Disasters Emergency Committee will always remain close to our hearts and benefit from our financial support. We believe that societies flourish when individual needs are understood and met. This is why our ‘live to give’ ethos is at the heart of everything we do.

DECEMBER 2025

Furnishing Futures

We are proud to support Furnishing Futures, a charity that helps survivors of domestic abuse transform empty, unsafe accommodation into welcoming homes that support women and children as they rebuild their lives. Many of the homes provided to survivors are in terrible conditions, so Furnishing Future's provides them with a professionally designed home to help rebuild their lives. In 2025 alone, they supported 67 women and 123 children.

To kick-start this partnership, we funded a full furniture package with a retail value of over £14,000. More than 41 essential items were supplied, delivered and installed, helping to create a safe, nurturing home where a family could begin a new chapter.

Royal Free Charity

Hampstead is where our business began and has been our home for over 50 years, making the Royal Free Hospital an institution very close to us. This holiday season, we felt it was important to show our support when given the opportunity.

We made a contribution to the Royal Free Charity to help fund services that reduce patient loneliness and bring comfort during long hospital stays. This includes complementary therapies, peer-support hubs and volunteer programmes that provide companionship and reassurance to patients when they need it most.

West London Equality Centre

We actively work across West London and are proud to support the West London Equality Centre, a charity that has been providing free legal advice and casework since 1963. Their work helps underprivileged individuals and families who would otherwise struggle to access support for their welfare.

We donated £500 to help sustain their vital services, which cover housing, employment, discrimination, welfare, family matters and immigration. This contribution supports their continued efforts to ensure fairness, access to justice and stronger communities in the areas we serve.

Ealing Soup Kitchen

We are pleased to support Ealing Soup Kitchen, a charity that has been providing hot, nutritious meals to the homeless, vulnerable and impoverished in Ealing since 1973. Their long-running weekend soup kitchen offers not only food, but dignity, care and a human connection.

Beyond meals, the charity also provides clothing, showers, barber services, foot care and practical support through its drop-in sessions. We donated £250 to help ensure this essential work can continue for those who rely on it.

Gurnell Grove Community Trust

We were made aware of a local initiative run by the Gurnell Grove Community Trust to deliver groceries to residents in need within the Gurnell Grove Estate in Ealing. Supporting practical, community-led projects like this is important to us.

We donated £250 to help fund the delivery of essential food supplies, ensuring individuals and families received vital everyday necessities. This contribution reflects our commitment to supporting local communities in meaningful ways.

Great Ormond Street Hospital

OCTOBER - NOVEMBER 2025

Great Ormond Street Hospital

Supporting children and their families is something we care deeply about, which is why we are proud to be a regular supporter of Great Ormond Street Hospital. Each year, we make a £1,000 donation to help fund the hospital’s vital research work, which continues to transform the lives of seriously ill children from across the UK and beyond.

The hospital’s commitment to innovation, care and long-term impact closely reflects our own values. We are honoured to contribute, in a small way, to the extraordinary work carried out by its dedicated teams.

Children’s Hospital Pyjamas

Continuing our focus on children’s wellbeing, we were introduced to a small but impactful charity through Luke Edwards, Customer Relations Manager at St James. Children’s Hospital Pyjamas supports families in need by collecting and distributing pyjamas nationwide, ensuring children can sleep in comfort during difficult times.

When Luke undertook the task of personally delivering 12,000 pairs of pyjamas across the Midlands to save significant distribution costs, we were pleased to support his efforts with a small donation. We were delighted to see him reach his £1,000 fundraising target and proud to play a part in helping this meaningful cause make a wider impact.

Company Picnic in Aid of Crisis

JUNE & JULY 2025

Company Picnic in Aid of Crisis

Our summer company picnic was a wonderful success, bringing together 90 attendees for a day of food, fun, and team spirit. A big congratulations to the tug of war winners and thank you to everyone who made the day possible.

Most importantly, the event raised vital funds for Crisis. With £25 donated for every attendee plus £375 from the cocktail bar, we contributed a total of £2,625, exceeding our £2,500 target. A huge thank you to all who supported this initiative and helped us make a difference in tackling homelessness.

ABC India

The ABC Foundation continues to expand its work in India, with the third batch of students now enrolled at The Hotel School in Kapashera, Delhi – a record 60 participants. Under the leadership of Anita Mehra, the team is also working closely with HR personnel to create employment opportunities for graduates of the programme, supporting young adults in achieving globally recognised standards.

Regular Donations

In addition to these initiatives, we continue to provide monthly donations of £100 each to both the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Crisis, ensuring ongoing support for their vital work.

St Luke’s Hospice Harrow & Brent

April 2025

St Luke’s Hospice Harrow & Brent

Benham and Reeves along with our sister company InStyle Direct are proud to be supporting St Luke’s Hospice with our latest donation of £136.34 raised by staff, put towards funding of free palliative care in Harrow and Brent. St Luke’s provides essential palliative services with compassion and dignity, and with only a third of their funding coming from the NHS, community support is vital.

We’re honoured to contribute to their mission of caring for the most vulnerable in our community and thank them for the meaningful work they do every day.

The ABC Foundation

At Benham & Reeves, we’re proud to support the ABC Foundation, an initiative focused on empowering young adults through skill-based training and globally recognised certification. The foundation recently launched Batch 2 with 45 students enrolled — a promising step forward in creating employment opportunities. We’re also pleased to have secured a dedicated office space for the program to grow and thrive.

Certificates for Batch 1 have been issued and distributed, marking a successful milestone. We’re proud to back this initiative and contribute to building brighter futures.

Our pop-up canteen at Finchley Road has been a great success, raising an additional £371 for Crisis this month. A big thank you to our team for organising and to all our wonderful customers for their support. We will be taking a break for the summer and will plan to re-open later this year.

The Great Tommy Sleep Out

Craig Carson, Managing Director of Barratt, took part in the Great Tommy Sleep Out – an award-winning fundraising challenge by the Royal British Legion to support homeless veterans in the UK. While not replicating rough sleeping, participants braved the elements to raise awareness and vital funds for this important cause. We made a small contribution in support of his efforts.

Bright Ideas for Tennis

We’re proud to support Bright Ideas for Tennis, a charity that empowers individuals with learning, sensory, or physical disabilities through inclusive tennis programmes. Their ‘I Play 30’ initiative offers free weekly sessions at over 100 venues across the UK, promoting vital life skills. We recently contributed £1,000 to their inspiring 24-hour Tennis Marathon, where children across the country played continuously to raise awareness and foster inclusivity through sport.

Whizz Kids

We supported Whizz Kids, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of disabled children across the UK. With strong ties to the Barratt team, we’re proud to donate £200 in support of Harry Day-Brosnan, an international sales advisor known to us, as he takes on the London Marathon to raise funds for this incredible initiative.

The ABC Foundation

A few years ago Benham and Reeves became involved with the ABC Foundation, an organisation that helps young adults in India improve their English language skills and so find employment in the hospitality industry.

The aim is to offer students from rural areas of India and Pakistan a specialist English language course - English for Hospitality Professionals. This focuses on spoken English, enabling participants to become qualified for skilled employment in the international hospitality sector.

Graduates have gone on to find jobs in leading hotels and restaurants, from India Le Meridien and Delhi Hyatt Regency to Holiday Inn and Sofitel.

Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic Fibrosis Trust

We are proud supporters of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a fantastic charity which supports people suffering from this debilitating disease. The money we raise for them goes directly to funding research into new treatments for the disease as well as providing practical support to those with Cystic Fibrosis and their families. The aim is to give sufferers a better quality of care and a better future.

What is Cystic Fibrosis?
