For 35 years Anita has been the driving force behind Benham and Reeves’ success as it has grown from a single branch in Hampstead, to one of central London’s oldest, independently owned sales, letting and property management companies. Anita's vision has driven the expansion of the business to offer a complete range of property investment related services from under one roof, from purchase to handover, furnishings and/or refurbishment to lettings and property management.
Anita has also spearheaded the company’s overseas expansion – it now has international offices in China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Middle East, Singapore and South Africa. She travels regularly, visiting the company's offices, meeting clients and discussing property investment strategy, as well as holding property investment seminars, often alongside notable banks, property developers and other international partners.
A qualified lawyer (she studied Law with French Law) at UCL, Simran began her career working for a city firm specialising in commercial real estate, before joining Benham and Reeves in 2006. During this time, Simran has put systems in place to streamline administration, enabling the company to compete effectively with much larger organisations. As a result, the company’s property management department has grown substantially – in 2006 it managed 885 rental homes whereas today the department manages nearly 2000 properties for clients, including a growing number of overseas clients.
Today, Simran and her team handle all aspects of property management, ranging from organising repairs to advising on legal issues and keeping clients updated about new legislation.
Vidhur studied Management Sciences at Manchester University, focusing on accountancy, before going on to qualify as a chartered accountant. He began his career working in investment banking but after several years decided to join Benham and Reeves in 2003. Since then he has expanded the finance department, introducing a broader range of services to encompass all financial aspects of property investment, from collecting rent through to completing tax returns (or ATED returns for overseas companies).
He has also put in place operational procedures and controls which have enabled the company not only to provide a first-rate service to clients, but also to provide the backbone to its successful and continuing growth.
