London property – where is the housing market headed in 2023
After an exceptionally busy few years of record-breaking house price rises and buyer demand with homes selling faster than ever before, we see the market beginning to calm down.
As the uncertainty brought about by interest rate rises and inflation eases, we’re seeing signs that some investors are ready to get started with their property purchases as we head into the New Year with property website Rightmove saying that asking prices for British homes rose for the first time in 2 months. In annual terms, property prices rose 6.3% in January, up from a rise of 5.6% the month before.
So how could the events of 2022 affect the property market this year? As the housing market returns to recovery mode, dates have finally been released for our Directors Anita Mehra and Marc von Grundherr’s first overseas visits of the year.
At their highly anticipated live seminars and private one-to-one consultations, they will give their forecasts for house prices this year, analyse the factors weighing on the market and ask what those looking to buy or sell in 2023 need to know.
London is, and always will be, a sought after destination for buyers - both domestically and internationally. Is it time for opportunistic investors to capitalise on lower prices and market uncertainty to build their portfolios?
