Supposedly spring is upon us but anyone who has stepped outside lately could be forgiven for questioning the seasons. While lighting the barbecue may be a while off, at least the property market is heating up. The pick of properties has never been better which is one reason why even those in celebrity land are gearing up to move. If you also fancy a chance, now is the time to do it. Check out these offerings near some of the world’s most notable neighbours.
One more time…in London?
Rumours are swirling that Britney Spears may be coming to London to star in a Christmas panto once her Las Vegas residency ends later this year. We’re really hoping this Christmas wish comes true. If the rumours are correct, she will star as Cinderella in a production at the London Palladium. That sure beats Christopher Biggins! Obviously Britney will need a place to stay so how about this offering in nearby Mayfair.
Consciously uncoupled?
Just before Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow consciously uncoupled, the two bought a £4.7 million house just across the road from the one they already owned. Following the split, Martin moved into the new place so he could still spend lots of time with the couple’s kids, Moses and Apple. The arrangement must have become too cosy as Martin has now sold the property for nearly doubled what they paid. Maybe Martin will move back to north London? If so, we have this property that’s certainly suitable for a rock star.
It has it all
Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was the It Girl of the Noughties. Her society connections, waif-like body and glossy hair ensured she was never far from the society pages. After a well-publicised meltdown, the I’m a Celebrity… runner up has turned her life around and reinvented herself as a fashion designer. She has moved house, as well, but if you want a trip back in time, consider snapping up her former Fulham home. The house only has one bedroom and measures just over 600 square feet. If you need a bit more space than that, this flat in Fulham is substantially bigger.
Hipster homewares
One of Britain’s most celebrated fashion designers has just introduced a line of homewares at Habitat. Henry Holland brings his House of Holland look to a variety of household objects including chairs, cushions, rugs and crockery. All make use of Holland’s signature bright colours and bold prints. The designer is a Londoner through and through, making his home in trendy Victoria Park and walking to his studios in London Fields. He recently described his terraced house as having a back “yarden” rather than a garden. Maybe a bit more colour would help, Henry? We have this nearby apartment if he fancies something even lower maintenance.
Happy Birthday, Ma’am
The Queen recently celebrated her 90th birthday. While we’re all looking forward to the celebrations later this year, especially the lucky few who managed to bag a ticket for the controversial Patron’s Lunch on The Mall which promises to be the world’s largest street party. The Queen, along with a few other members of the royal family, is the official host, not that she has to stroll far from Buckingham Palace. Interestingly, one London sales agent has valued Buckingham Palace at £2.2 billion based on just the size alone. The 828,831 square foot palace also boasts the largest private garden in London. If you’re not in the line of succession, we have this alternative flat nearby.
