New-build developments in London

New homes

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is the smallest borough in London but it is certainly one of the most affluent and sought-after.  Admired as a place to live throughout the world, when international professionals move to London for the first time, this is the area that they often wish to live in.  The team at Kensington estate agents Benham & Reeves known the area like the back of their hand so they can advise on all its merits – it is known for its famous museums including the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, as well as its luxury shops and fine dining restaurants.  And of course Kensington Palace and the stunning Kensington Palace Gardens are perhaps the area’s most beautiful places to visit while vibrant Kensington High Street is a mecca for lovers of luxury goods.

Kensington’s architecture is also outstanding and here you will find handsome townhouses, elegant mansion blocks and period conversions as well as impressive mansions, situated in quaint cobbled mews and beautiful garden squares. Kensington also has a select, few, modern, residential developments which particularly appeal to international buyers and renters looking for more contemporary, lateral living.

Based in Thackeray Street, W8, our team of property experts have years of experience buying, selling, renting and managing residential properties in Kensington on behalf of our clients.  To find out more about Kensington, view our area guide.

Where do you currently live? I am fortunate enough to live in the heart of South Kensington, a neighbourhood to which I have a lifelong attachment.

What do you like most about working in the Kensington area? The sense of achievement that comes with matching people with their dream property never grows stale. This is particularly true of Kensington, where stunning architecture is complemented by exquisite restaurants, world-class retail outlets and places of cultural interest.

Tell me a little about your property career A Londoner born and bred, I was educated in Kensington and naturally gravitated towards its uniquely exclusive property market. I have 24 years of solid residential lettings and sales experience working in the borough and continue to find the task of locating the right property for my discerning clients tremendously rewarding.

What are your passions outside work and how do you relax? I love international travel, but when at home, I like nothing better than to dine at my favourite Kensington restaurant, Ottoemezzo. I also have a keen interest in fitness and nutrition.
Where do you live? I live in South London so I have quite an easy commute into work.

What do you like most about the properties in Kensington? I love the imaginatively designed architure here from striking Georgian houses and Victorian mansion blocks to new build homes which are very popular here. Kensington appeals to all tastes and with Hyde Park and Holland Park nearby, as well as the many amenities of Kensington High Street, it’s a great place to live.

Tell me something about your career? Understanding how London’s property sector works is essential so I have been immersing myself in learning but my favourite part is matching people to the right properties for happy outcomes.

What are your passions outside work and how do you relax? I love to get out of London at the weekends and have a place where I can walk and unwind after a week in the city.

Where is your favourite part of London? I was brought up in Islington so would have to choose Angel and surrounding areas such as the City and Shoreditch.

Tell us a little about your career I have been working within the property industry for 15 plus years, covering several sales sectors with specialism in new build sales. Since joining Benham and Reeves as an  investment consultant, I have progressed to sales manager of new homes and resale properties in residential developments, working closely with our international offices and a growing roll of domestic and international investor clients.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself I love to run and have run half marathons and marathons in the past.
Which is your favourite part of London? London is the city I’ve called home for the past 10 years and there are many lovely areas, but one of my favourites is Southbank. Here you are surrounded by London’s rich architectural history demonstrated beautifully by Tower Bridge and the fantastic River views you get from Blackfriars Bridge which is like no other.

Tell me a little about your property career and interest in it? I began my career studying law but soon realised it was not for me because my passion for real estate couldn’t be ignored. I enjoy working with people and have built up a lot of property sector knowledge which is the backbone of my experience. Buyers and sellers seem to appreciate the personal touch and I think being a good communicator is the key to be a being good real estate agent.

What are your passions outside work and how do you relax? I really enjoy photography and I love to paint, in fact my house is full of my paintings!  I also take part in regular volleyball tournaments, where I have the opportunity to keep fit whilst enjoying a bit of competition.
What is your favourite part of London? Covent Garden for its buzz, the market and stunning architecture, it’s such a hidden gem.

What key skills do you bring to your role at B&R? I have worked in the property industry for seven years, first as a reservations manager for serviced apartments and then with Benham and Reeves as a lettings administrator which has helped form the ground work for my current role assisting the salesforce. Efficiency is my watch-word and I like to reflect this in all my tasks. I have a keen eye for detail and also enjoy taking on new challenges.

What are your passions outside work for relaxation? I love catching up with family and friends and my other passions are dance and singing in a London choir.
