Bermondsey is located along the Thames’s South bank. Considered one of the city’s most desirable areas, Bermondsey was once an industrial hub famous for leather production. Locals nicknamed this area ‘Biscuit Town’ as it was home to many confectionery factories. In the 21st century, Bermondsey is a magnet for creative professionals, food enthusiasts and families.
You will find a mix of old-world architecture and new build developments in this area. The diverse housing options cater to varied budgets and preferences — from Victorian terraces and industrial warehouse conversions to sleek modern apartments.
The restaurants, bars and markets make this area a haven for food enthusiasts. Southwark Park, Tanner Street Park and Bermondsey Spa Gardens are perfect for relaxing amidst nature. You will also find a host of boutique shops, independent art galleries and trendy cafes in Bermondsey.
Commuters can hop on the Jubilee Line at Bermondsey Tube Station and reach London Bridge and Canary Wharf in just one stop. The Overground at nearby Surrey Quays and the anticipated Bakerloo Line extension offer further accessibility.
