An area of massive historical and cultural significance, Blackfriars has seen many changes, yet still retains its uniquely refined character. Situated where the financial zone of the City merges with the judicial quarter around Chancery Lane. There are plenty of quaint streets where period buildings have undergone conversions which are in high demand among City professionals. Blackfriars is directly across the Thames from the Tate Modern gallery and is linked by a quirky pedestrian bridge.
Another unusual river crossing supports the platforms of Blackfriars Station. Part of the Thameslink line it has direct connections to Gatwick and Luton airports as well as the St Pancras Eurostar terminal. Crossing the road bridge leads to the restaurant filled mini district around the One Blackfriars residential skyscraper. This area is particularly popular with creatives, media executives and international students.
