Contrary to the nursery rhyme, London Bridge isn't falling down anytime soon. However, the area around it is coming up, with brand-new developments springing up on the banks of the Thames. From Southwark's Borough Market of the 18th century to the iconic Shard of the 21st century, London Bridge is an area where history embraces the future like none other.
As a busy commuter hub with world-famous museums and art galleries such as Tate Modern and HMS Belfast, the area is a major tourist attraction with high footfall throughout the year. Quick access to the capital's financial districts and top universities makes living near London Bridge highly sought after amongst professionals and students.
In addition to being a postcard landmark, London Bridge is well-connected to the City and beyond via road, rail and river. Monument Station at the Northern end of the bridge and London Bridge Station at the Southern end provide seamless Underground connectivity, there is also Canon Street Station (Zone 1) nearby.
For a more scenic ride along the river, you can hop on to one of the Thames Clippers from Bankside Pier or London Bridge City Pier. From multi-million-pound penthouses on Blackfriars Road to stunning riverfront apartments in Southwark and Lambeth, homebuyers and property investors have an array of options to choose from near London Bridge.
